I don't know about you but I LOVE buffalo sauce! When I heard about how freezing your tofu twice could give it a meaty texture, I knew I needed to switch up my regular cauliflower buffalo wings and try out the tofu method! They turned out better than I expected and will be making my buffalo "wings/nuggets" this way from here on out!
When you freeze and thaw your tofu, it creates a meaty texture. The liquid inside creates these layers and pieces when it is frozen and when it's thawed the liquid has more room to escape which gives you more opportunity to marinate it to taste how you want. It is a timely process, but totally worth it!
Tofu - Can take on any flavor you want to give it. You just need to press out the liquid, or freeze/thaw it, first so it can absorb whatever flavor you marinate it in. It is high in plant-based protein, this recipe is 15-16g of protein per serving just from the tofu! It is also high in calcium and magnesium and has zero cholesterol.
